Jess’s botanical monoprint series is a celebration of nature’s quiet intricacies – each piece capturing the fleeting beauty of leaves, stems, and blossoms through the immediacy of printmaking.

Using real plant specimens, she explores the delicate textures and organic forms that often go unnoticed, pressing them into ink and paper to preserve a moment in time.

This process is both intuitive and experimental and was used by early botanists to record specimens when exploring the world’s flora. The technique allows for only one impression, making each print a unique and unrepeatable reflection of the natural world.

Jess is drawn to the tension between control and chance – the way the ink spreads, the pressure of the press, and the subtle imprint of a vein or petal.

Through these works, Jess invites viewers to slow down and reconnect with the botanical rhythms that surround us. Each print is a quiet homage to the enduring elegance of nature’s design.
